PowerPoint to video.

Making a video from pictures has become common, there are many ways to do it. The way that I had done this in the past was to make a PowerPoint presentation with the pictures arranged on the slide, set up the transitions, and use a third party software to record the presentation. While I did find Camtasia Studio pretty easy and did exactly what I wanted, now there is an easier way.Starting in PowerPoint 2010, this is a built in feature. I had not tried to do this type of thing in a while, but when I did I was using 2013 version. I thought it was new in 2013 but after some searching I found that it is also possible in 2010. The process starts the same, create PowerPoint presentation including setting up the presentation show (transitions and timing). Now comes the recording of the presentation, you don’t have to. You simply click save as and save as a MPEG-4 or Windows Media Video file. It takes a little bit of time and you will see a progress bar at the bottom of the screen.

This could be used for many things besides pictures on a PowerPoint. You could create a presentation for school or work and save it as a video to present. Maybe you don’t have a controller to advance the slides or just don’t want to. Another option is to send it to people that could not attend the original presentation.
